Happy Monday AFTER such Random Weekend Inspirational Discovering!

Hello into the new week and happy Monday to you all!
A quick weekend summary:

Here is a few new updates on our house decorating progress ... and also a few photos from our trip to Calgary Heritage Park's Old Car Museum - who would have known that it could inspire me in fashion shopping and perfume changes? I would not dream that...

Here we go:

1. FIRST - We got our chandelier shades which we had been anticipating for past 2 months and this kind of thing makes you wonder why shop in a store at all...when getting things directly on-line takes so much LESS TIME. Also, we thought they ordered the chandelier with the shades but they made a mistake and forgot...and they don't carry a sample of the fixture in the store for you to see, just a catalogue picture and you must decide well, because once you order it, you can't return it! Well, that is how it works in Canada! Maybe US is better...but it is a lot of pressure to shop just from a photograph and that is why I prefer on-line shopping where returns are possible(:
The chandelier is by Visual Concepts. Lucky I am happy with my pick. The oval shape was important to me...as the rectangular shape of our table calls for it.

THE FIXTURE NOW:

Without the shades it was not quite as good and complete, what do you think?

It is lovely without shades but much cozier with them ...

BELOW 1st PHOTO FROM BEFORE:
Here we were so not done with the nook! The light was a temporary solution.

BUT NOW the country iron fixture is fabulously contrasting the deco style crystal lights above our centre island. Art Nouveau vs. French country is a fun court case if done well!

2. SECOND - Then I stopped by my favourite upholstery shop, Rowland upholstery in Calgary and found some great fabric to add to the existing cushions on the benches, a lovely blue-green colour and rusty brown as they nicely pick up on the tones in the floral fabric(: but are not too matchy after all! Just the way I like it...

3. THIRD - We went to the OLD Car Museum and I did not hold back...I just leaned back and imagined how it must have been great in those days, watching a movie from the comfort (springy seats I tell you!) of your large grand vehicle((:
Love the gray! It is quite the hue...

Then I thought ...How about the cool gray MARNI PANT to wear for the ride?

Pastel BLUE or RED for you??

I decided to pick the hot RED one and buy this ARMANI skirt on-line at the OUTNET.com to go with this car (: Old days are inspiring to us aren't they?

And our little boy thinks that BLUE is the coolest colour right now...

4. FOURTH - discovery this weekend after the old cars, I realized that pure oil based perfumes must be a new OLD trend for me! I got me some old style scents ((: in our local health food store.

Along with that and to relax myself on those less calm fun days I got the "five minute peace" oil for a calming bath experience, I had no idea it can be so fun to try on the old life-style!

BUY YOUR NEW OIL PERFUME HERE:
If you want to be inspired with me by the old times and add more pure products among your scents on your vanity, you may want to look at oil based perfumes by MAROMA.com (I bought my Jasmin de Nuit and Lavender scents which smell just amazing... at our local health store but you may get it on-line here at Maroma Perfumes).

BUY YOUR NEW SILVER TRAY AT TINA'S HERE:
They won't look as good without the lovely silver tray I got from TINA (((: at the ENCHANTED HOME SHOP and the silver tray is a real pleasure booster in the morning when I am getting ready for the day!

Hope you had a lovely and inspiring weekend too! So stepping into the new Monday is that much better...

Breakfast TV Calgary - What Skirt To Wear? 1 Look 2 Prices!

This morning on Calgary City TV Breakfast show we had both our Mode Models, Jessie and Rene, wearing the A-Line skirts with a significant benefit of this particular style being adaptable to every body type.
A-Line skirt is great because it is balancing the silhouette and emphasizes femininity.
(see more HERE)

Among the other style stars of this season are the pencil skirt and the pleated skirt or bouffant with highly defined waist and they come in all different lengths.

The decission to feature the longer length is to show the skirt in the lenght that is the most popular for SS2012 but also most flattering to everybody, the below the knee is perfect for any height or age a woman may be!

Same look BUT each look is quite different when it comes to price!
Can you guess which one is $1855 and which one is $570?

Before we went "on air" this morning, I took a picture of them!
The photos are not as good as the camera work, so please watch the video below but first, can you guess what is more or less expensive?

CLICK ON IMAGES TO WATCH THE VIDEO:

Both A-line skirts are a bit bouffant at the bottom and if you want any bouffant at all this season, that would be the way to wear it.

For if you chose some bouffant around the waist, it is an instant weight gainer! ((:

We used to call these baloon skirts in the 80's but these A-lines from today, are not quite like that, they are more stream lined.

On right (Rene), wearing a look by Paul Hardy (shop at: Paul HARDY DESIGN.COM) the grays and nudes are lovely and very present. The sheerness in the skirt showing the second shorter skirt underneath is also a nice feature and everybody wants it for a good reason! Combined with the perfect nude platform wedge sandal by ARNOLD CHURGIN

On left (Jessie), wearing a look from Chateau Country Lace Calgary & this skirt is also unique with the lace edge and can be transformed from a bouffant bottom to a longer maxi skirt maintaining its A-line style. Wearing the black? Add the pop of colour as the strong hues and neons are seen to be presented on runways with the blacks! Adding the perfect ballerina flats by MUPs is ideal.

Click HERE to watch the Fashion Video!

Hope you enjoyed it and wheather you wear your a-line with flats (MUPs) or with the must have wedges (Arnold Churgin), you will rock the fashions this time!
Look your fabulous self(:

THE SS 2012 SKIRTS and why we chose the A-Line for our TV fashion segment?

I think the 2012 "skirt" ruled the runways (: or is it just me?

MOST skirts emphasize femininity; while the A-LINE style especially below the knee (mid-calf) length is flattering for all body shapes and any age and rather enhances the silhouette of the right proportions, the hourglass figure!

That is why I chose to dress our mode models for our TV fashion segment (Calgary, City TV - BT at 8:12am) into 2 beautiful A-LINE skirts. Now you have to wait a bit to see that as we have not aired yet, but here is a selection of lovely A-line skirts I found on STyle.com:

Chanel; long almost maxi, beautiful, and don't you love the black?

Ms. Prada!! She knows!

Chloe, we love the nudes ...and lower waist line.

Prada and Pleated!

Dries Van Noten, when gathering or pleats start lower from or below your hips, that is most flattering ... pleating or those bouffant skirts are just merciless to our tummies(:

Dries again! How gorgeous and cool this one is...

A-line cowboy style by Jean Paul G. is just perfect for the Calgary Centennial Stampede 2012...festivities.

Today I bought the perfect Italian hand made cowboy boots and designed by our Calgary own Craig/ ARNOLD Churgin! Amazing boots! click ARNOLD CHURGIN SHOES

RALPH Lauren reminds me of my wedding day and style of my 20's head piece(:
the evening long A-line is perfect and flattering!

yes I still love it...no mistake there!

The SEE THROUGH is not for everybody(:

Proenza Schouler featuring the very "now" trend of see through long skirts. Sexy.

Subtle A-line by Piazza Sempione.

OK Burberry P. did some lovelies too!

Paul Smith is always right. Love gray!

I say wear all off of them (the skirts of course) with "the it shoes" the wedges or FLATS ((: Try the great flats by MUPs!! They offer great selection of ornaments to change it up! These are my new MUPs.
I will be showing these on one of our models on TV on Thursday(:

You may read about MUPs on my previous post HERE about MUPS
Or visit their website by clicking on the IMAGE BELOW:

Enjoy the flared skirts & the must have shoes and I say the longer the skirt ... the more imagination we encourage in a man ((:

Mid-week deliveries?

I love gifts, even when I ordered them myself and they got delivered today!
I was showered in them actually today(:
First, Tina from Enchanted Home Blog sent me the lovely silvers!! They speak for themselves...and HERE (TINA'S ENCHANTED HOME SHOP) you can visit her on-line shop!!
JUST look at those lovelies(:

This crest goes well in my kitchen with the already existing silver bowl there! I will probably drink beer out of it...being Czech and all!

I wanted something small for my vanity..for perfumes, this is ideal.
I prefer to keep everything else in the drawers(:

My husband's vanity gets a matching one in slightly different shape.

Another SILVER-gray item that was brought to me second this afternoon is this pile of stone for my landscaping!

Also, our new "kinda gray" wicker furniture for the patio is here...
All great comes in 3's!

HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A LOVELY mid-week time!
XO Z
