Runway to WORKWAY fashions: legwear!

Hello Ladies,
Tuesday fashion tip today is a treat for your beautiful legs.

Socks, knee-highs, tights ... our legs are WORTH IT!

This fashion season can't be approached without legwear in mind. Some see it as the affordable accessory and others (me) as completing the outfit we are wearing as well as accessorizing it.

The trend is pretty broad and we can all find our perfect leg decor with certainty this season.

Mode Models and I did a quick Breakfast TV (on City TV Calgary) review of the legwear trends and here it is:

Back stage with the girls, all smiling and enjoying their tights and a few jokes!

Here we are on AIR with City TV's anchor Jill Belland and if you want to watch the video, just click the following link:

Fashion Segment VIDEO

Which of the trend setters do you choose? Shall we try them all?

TREND 1. Sheers; pure sheer hose or the fun (80's are back) styles with pattern where the DOTs are leading, followed closely by stripes or abstract prints and even skulls or stars, just perfect fun.

TREND 2. Opaque tights come in all sorts of interesting styles: floral prints, ribbed texture, bright colours, great basic colours (grays, blacks, shitake), you be the judge of what works with your wardrobe!

Above: Burberry

TREND 3. Lace design is with mostly floral motifs.

TREND 4. Statement Tights bring us a lot of novelty tights and new ideas, like colour blocking (vertical striping) and layering of 2 tights together, this is where you can have fun and not be worried about wearing colour as this is not near your face and the focus on your legs is fun and playful at any age too! Not to mention the fact that if you have broad shoulders or bigger chest, it is great to balance it off with the strong focus on legs.

Last but not least, don't forget to wear socks with trousers or skirts and dresses, they are fabulous and will modernize your look instantly, check it for yourself.

Above all: Bottega Veneta

Till next time, ENJOY your legs and let others enjoy your style!

Apple Strudel ("not the apple pie, please"):

Ok, yes, I skipped my Tuesday Fashion tips and focused on raking our leaves (gosh will I have toned arms) before the snow fall (my son was actually a great help) and baking!
Comfort winter baking would be for a lot of you .. the famous american "apple pie" but I don't know how to make it. Besides, the strudel my Mom makes is the best (subjectively speaking).

A girlfriend recently told me that on her way home from work she could not stop thinking about my strudel and she asked for the recipe. Voila here it is!

So you have a choice, getting the flake puff pastry from your local bakery fresh or just keep some in your freezer (ternderflake):

Roll the dough out into a rectangular shape and quite thin but not too thin...smiles.

FOR 2 strudels:

Prepare your peeled & grated (7 medium-large) apples into a bowl,
ADD
1 tsp corn starch
2 tbsp vanilla sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
pinch of cloves
1 tbsp squeezed lemon juice
OPTIONAL
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or raisins

Blend together well and place on top of each rolled out pastry.

Close it up as a good surgeon would do (I use metal picks to keep it in place while baking).
Brush the top with one egg yolk.

And preheated 350F oven should do the job in 45 minutes ...bake until golden brown in colour.

You may add your own vanilla sauce when serving it or icecream or keep it simple!
Bon appetite!

Nudity resolved: Elena Evanoff paintings

Ladies of style ... thank you.
Thank you all incredibly much for your "well trained eye" advice!

Here is what I did with our newly acquired paintings: Dining room and Office flourish with them. These rooms are symmetrically placed on each side of the front of our house and share the same glass French doors, so it makes complete sense to me.

Hope you like it!

Blue Dining Room:

Dining room, yes the Provence blue on the walls and ceiling as well as the blue-green marble top on our hutch are perfectly complimenting the colours in the painting, right?

Gray Office/ Living Room:

My husband jokes that the small hidden part of our office (peek behind the book shelf cabinet) that has all the large ("ugly") computer and printer stuff is his office and mine is the front elegant Art Deco desk ... well true to some degree, but now that we have the sexy paintings I hope he sits around a bit more ...smiles. It is partly a living room and my creative space.
The paintings just work with the walnut pattern in the desk so much that I could not put them anywhere else...Elena is an amazing painter!

Thanks for visiting!
